Teri Varga, the dark red sunlight
She is the mother of two adults, a nutritionist, a masseur, a communication trainer and so much more. Teri is a modern day Renaissance woman whose smiling eyes caught my attention the minute I met her. A warm and welcoming smile which reassures you that you are just fine. That was the feeling I experienced when entering the Balance Studio where I met this Beauty with Plus. I became curious to find out the source of her eternal peace. I wanted to get to know her better so I can write her written portrait to you. She is a purple-reddish sunshine or that is the first word coming to my mind when I think of her. But what could be her own word to describe herself?
Zsuzska: What is that one word to describe you?
Teri: You almost got me with that question but after thinking for a while I choose „colourful”. I am colourful because I have all shades of colours living within me. My dark red colour, for instance, helps me to remain creative, active, dynamic while the light red in me represents my anger, my emotions, my strong will, my jealousy and my wishes. The white in me gives me an open minded, curious, life and people loving personality while my cheerful spirit, my smile is with me thanks to my orange colour. I’m trustworthy and self-disciplined thanks to brown, I have harmony and balance thanks to green and my honesty is there because of my blue colour. Grey is responsible for feeling low, black is for my fears, the chaos while peace and grace are also in me in the form of purple. And so on… so that is why I choose colourful.
Zs: We met in Balance Studio so tell me, what keeps you in balance?
Teri: Balance is an ongoing vibration around the state of being still. To reach this state huge help can come from friends, family, colleagues and from even myself. Creating my balance the realization of I am being the responsible for what happens to me was a big stepping stone. I know that I always have a choice therefore I feel less helpless in life. I am more and more aware of my own reactions to things and how I handle stress. I am sure that I get only those lessons which I am capable of managing and solving. I feel that I have a life purpose which I am pursuing with everything I do. I am grateful for the small things as well, for the sunshine, for a tree, for birds singing around me, for a smile, for a favour and I learnt to appreciate what I have.
Zs: Please finish the sentence: „Self-confidence to me is…”
Teri: Self-confidence to me is learning to believe in my own abilities, myself in general, in my feelings, my intentions and actions. Believing that I am capable of doing my work, and being content with myself even when I fail to fulfill what I planned to do. I can tell that nowadays I am not so concerned to please everyone and get their approval for whatever I am doing. Today I am able to say a compliment to myself and I can accept myself as I am in that moment.
Zs: Have you ever struggled with accepting yourself?
Teri: Oh yes, of course! Especially as since I was a little girl, I have always dreamed of having a beautiful, long, thick hair crown but life gave me the opposite. I was called names because of my thin hair and since I tried every chemical to make it better, I actually made it worse. I tried to have short hair but it did not solve the problem. Now my hair is mid-length and I learnt to accept it as it is.
Zs: When was the last time you felt beautiful?
Teri: I remember exactly even the date: it was on 17 November when I attended my friend’s usual Christmas pre-party. Weeks before the gathering I started to take better care of myself, my food, my sport habits and on the day of the party I had my hair styled, wore some sexi lingerie and a nice black lace dress, a bit more makeup and my favourite parfume. I looked into the mirror and I felt happy and sexy.
Zs: What is that certain PLUS in a woman that makes her beautiful?
Teri: I always check the eyes first. If she has a smile and shine in her eyes then I see her beautiful.
And Teri’s eyes are always shining. You can experience it too if you attend one of her trainings or just meet her in the Studio. That warm smile will make sure you feel like home.
