We tend to want it all, right now. If we have to wait over 30 mins for a pizza, we get frustrated and if our partner doesn’t reply to our text immediately, we become paranoid. When we put on a few pounds over the course of time, we want to get rid off them all within a week and once we read a self-help book we expect our troubles to go away instantly. However it never works that way, right? You need to be patient and kind with yourself. Just think about it: putting on those pounds did not happen overnight and your self-esteem did not get ruined within a day, correct? Accept the fact that changing those takes time so instead of beating yourself up, show some compassion and remember, you are a work in progress!
