American retailer, Lane Bryant did it again! After their #Iamnoangel campaign (I wrote about it HERE earlier) they brought body positivity to a higher level. I already got intrigued by their teaser video with the beat and the strong message:
„…I deserve more. I’m ready to share the spotlight. It’s time to see a change. To see a body like mine on a billboard and in magazines….I want to live in a world where we are all seen and celebrated…”
I was excited to see who are those beauties behind the mysterious silhouettes I saw ont he flyers spreading on social media and yesterday finally the campaign video got revealed: #PlusIsEqual because plus size models and women deserve equal rights in fashion, and not only there. Their goal is to use the power of social media and spread the message: a woman can be sexy, confident and awesome, no matter what their size label say. According to the CEO of the company, labels must be demolished as „plus” only widens the gap between women in the (fashion)world.
„I don’t think it matters what size you are. I think it’s time to represent all kinds of women: proud, strong, fashion-forward, stylish, super awesome. Everyone deserves to be celebrated. Noone is ignoring us anymore. #PlusIsEqual”
As a smart move having the time of current New York Fashion Week, billboards appear across the fashion shows’ locations, sending a clear message to the fashion world: we are here and have all the right for fashion as any other size women. If you are in New York, make sure to join Lane Bryant when they take over Times Square to celebrate the campaign (more info on Facebook HERE).
How do you like the initiative, my Beauties? I wish I could book my ticket to NY right now!
