In my previous chapter you could see the marvellous garden of Nella’s family weekend house (check the photos HERE ) and today the protagonist will be her husband, Andrea.
The third day of our 10 days Sicily trip papa Corrado invited us for a grill & have a good time party to his friend, Andrea’s house. A beautiful multi-storey house with huge balconies and a perfect garden with an even too perfect green grass were awaiting us there on that Thursday evening. We took a few hestitating steps towards the gazebo and introduced ourselves to the hosts but our emberrassing first moments flew by quickly. Andrea was sitting at the end of the table and somehow I got seated at the other end from where I was wathing this quiet, tanned man with a rounded belly who did not talk so much but when he opened his mouth, all listened. He reminded me of the Godfather and I shared this impression with him which he seemed to like a lot (based on his laughing) so from that moment I just called him the „Padrino”.
After dinner the party got loud with singing and dancing but Andrea was rather an obeserver with his silent smile and then he looked at me and asked „What is your plan for tomorrow morning?” What I learned already after 3 days is that planning is sometimes in the hand of our Sicilian family so I just smiled and answered „Nothing special.” But Andrea had a different plan for us – a definitely special one. He invited us for his friend’s’ boat for a private cruising around the caves of Syracuse sea shore. Why? He wanted that we have a good time. We were surprised and excited at the same time so we thanked and started to count the minutes until the new adventure.
Andrea took us to the harbor and his even more tanned friend (normal from a sailor, right?) waited for us to have a memorable cruise. I always find sea people’s confidence astonishing as we were rather scared stepping onto the moving boat while he moved so easily. As I was sure that this trip would be an amazing one, I came prepared in my tropical Swimsuitsforall high waist bikini so we could capture some moments on the camera. Sailing into the caves was scary and breathtaking at the same time and the fantastic colours of the sea definitely left us speechless. At one point another boat came near us to hand over some refreshments: sweet strawberries! I loved both the gesture and the taste, how nice these people are! I could not thank enough our captain and to the Godfather for this wonderful experience!
