I wrote an article last year with a list of things you understand only above size 42 which means you are plus size (find it HERE) and since you loved it so much I decided it is time for another list of things meant to be motivational but we find them annoying. And tiring.
- You have a beautiful face! You would look nice if you lose weight!
Have you noticed that if you wear bigger jeans somehow all the people around you become „face-fetisist”? And they only point out the beauty of your face as if the rest of your body would be invisible?
- You want to eat that all?
Ah the usual shock what your plate gets unless it contains some ruccola salad and tiny pieces or parmesan salad. However it may be the first moment of that day I get to eat something but to the nice commenter it doesn’t matter ovbiously.
- Guess what? Our gym has a special offer now and you should definitely go for it!
And I think you definitely should go for a break from insulting me! You may want it sound motivational but these comments only increase the body shame. So pls don’t say that! I do sport because I love my body and not because I want to please you.
- Have you tried xy diet pills? They say they melt the weight like crazy!
Yeah and probably they melt my organs as well. This is similar to the previous point as it rather makes me feel ashamed (plus you put me into danger by recommending some magic pill we have no medical record of…).
- You really do sport? I would not have thought that!
As people who do sport are rather skinny muscled like the Tour de France bikers or they look like Hulk or a body builder, right? Ufff, guess what, I can do an Insanity workout and you??
- Instead of vest tops, you should wear T-shirts as they look better on you!
Self-claimed fashion guru who feels bad only by seeing me feeling good with my bare arms. I have some bad news: I am not willing to put all layers around my arms in 40 Celsius just so you feel better about it.
You should lose weight for your health!
The health expert who can draw a full blood analysis only by looking at me as if those data are written on my size label. I think it is rather you who should lose from that prejudice you have!
- Did you lose weight? You look good!
If it is meant to be a hint for me to start some crazy diet then please do not pretend it is a compliment. These 2 sentences next to each other are tragic anyway as I can look good only if I lose weight?
- I’m just trying to help you!
Please, don’t do that! If I need help, definitely I will ask someone relevant who probably will not be you. Thanks!
- I’m so fat, so ugly!
This can come especially bad from a skinny persona s it makes us feel even worse since that would make us what, whales? Drop this habit if you are nearly not a size 38 (UK 10, US 6)-
