In couple of days I fly to London for a quick visit for work as the model casting of the British Plus Size Fashion Weekend will be held on 30th November. Oh no, not as a model but as a team member of BPSFW I go to help and make sure that the casting day goes smoothly and on the previous day loads of meetings are scheduled as well.
Travelling is part of my work and it is my hobby as well and in these years I became a kind of pro in the sense of what to bring, what are the essentials and how to pack. I collected this shortlist of must-haves in my handbag which may come useful for you now around the holidays as you may plan a flight or a trip by train.
What I really hate when travelling for hours is waiting but music always releases my pain! My current favourite is Lorde: Pure Heroine album ( if you haven’t heard yet, check it here) which I listen quite a lot these days.
2. Lip care
My lips tend to get dry more easily on airplanes, especially in winter time so the right lip balm can’t be missing from my hand luggage. So far Vaseline is the best which cures my dry lips in 1 day!
I have an early flight to London so most probably I’ll choose 20 mins more sleeping and not the makeup but even when I go “all natural” I always take cleansing wipes in my bag as they can be really refreshing after a long trip. My favourite ones are from Sephora.
Yes, in winter too – as my favourite Ray Ban has mirror effect lenses so my tired (and all natural, lacking makeup) eyes can not be seen by outsiders. Plus after a short map the sunlight can be so hard – isn’t it?
5. Comfy shoes
Oh that security control at the airport, what a pain! Especially in winter when long boots, jackets and all – so I always choose an easily removable boots for travels – my favourite is the Zara studded ankle boots.
Winter cold and frequent hand washes dry my hands really quickly so a good handcream always has space in my bag. My favourite Italian natural cosmetics, Bottega Verde has this almond rich handcream which I can’t get enough of! Great smell and perfect effect!
When you fly, you never know – flights can be delayed, cancelled so it is always wise to have some stock in your bag. My favourite is this strawberry buscuit.
I usually listen to music on my mobile and we know how fast smart phones battery dies so I always bring the charger in my handbag with me – and not only during flights! It comes useful to charge at airports too when you are waiting.
Magazines, magazines, magazines – that is why my handbag is so heavy all the time but they come really handy during a long trip as fashion source of inspiration (and entertainment).
10. Practical bag
And where all these stuff go to? When travelling I like if my handbag is not only fashionable but practical as well – like my ultimate fav Furla bag which I can wear cross body as well so my hands become free to drag around my luggage. .
And finally an interesting fact – though as a EU citizen I don’t necessarily need passport as ID would be enough, I always carry my passport with me as a double document protection.
How does your list differ from mine?
